The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) on Friday confirmed that al-Shaabab militants stormed its army base in southern Somalia.
Reinforcements from the ATMIS and its allies managed to repel the assaults launched by suicide bombers and different al-Shabaab fighters earlier within the day in Bulo Marer, about 120 km southwest of Mogadishu, the mission stated in a press release.
