RIYADH, Saudi Arabia [SMN] – The Speaker of the Parliament Sheikh Adan Madobe arrived in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Saturday, his workplace stated.
Upon arrival, he was welcomed at Riyadh Airport by the Head of the Saudi Parliament, the Secretary of the Somali Embassy in Saudi Arabia, and different Somali diplomats.
“The speaker is on an official go to to Saudi Arabia and can maintain talks along with his nation’s counterpart, Dr Abdullahi bin Mohamed bin Ibrahim Aala Sheikh,” added the assertion.
Madobe and his Saudi counterpart will deal with the cooperation between the 2 parliaments as KSA is now eager to restore diplomatic and commerce relations with Somalia.
In 2021, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia appointed Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al-Muwallad as their new ambassador to Somalia and reopened its embassy in Mogadishu after years of hiatus.
Al-Muwallad is the second Saudi ambassador to Mogadishu because the collapse of the central authorities in 1991. It comes because the Gulf states’ battle for affect in Somalia intensifies.
