Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni says 54 Ugandan peacekeepers have been killed in an assault final week by militant group al-Shabab on a army base in Somalia.
Museveni stated the Uganda Folks’s Defence Forces (UPDF) had since recaptured the bottom from the Islamist group.
“Our troopers demonstrated exceptional resilience and reorganised themselves, ensuing within the recapture of the bottom by Tuesday,” the president stated.
