ANKARA – Not less than 5 employees died on Saturday in an explosion at a rocket and explosives manufacturing facility in Türkiye’s capital Ankara, in keeping with the nation’s Nationwide Protection Ministry.
“An explosion occurred on the MKE Rocket and Explosives Manufacturing facility within the Elmadag district of Ankara. On account of the explosion, 5 of our employees have been martyred,” the ministry stated in an announcement.
It added that judicial and administrative investigations have been launched into the incident.
The power the place the early-morning blast passed off is owned by Türkiye’s Equipment and Chemical Trade Company (MKE).
