MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – A mortar shell explosion killed at the very least 27 individuals, primarily youngsters, close to the city of Qoryoley in south Somalia’s Decrease Shabelle area on Friday.
At the least 53 others wounded within the explosion, in keeping with the Somali state media.
“This catastrophe occurred right now close to Qoryoley city. They have been enjoying with a mortar shell that didn’t go off. It exploded on them. Twenty of them died and others are injured,” Abdi Ahmed, deputy district commissioner of Qoryoley instructed journalists.
Residents stated that the mortar shell was fired by Ugandan troops in a single day, although there was no remark from the African Union peacekeeping mission in Somalia.
