Two Moist Days Begin the Week
BACK TO WHERE THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO BE. WE HAD A BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND. I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE OUTSIDE CELEBRATING JUNETEENTH, CELEBRATING FATHER’S DAY, SPORTS. I’M SURE A BUSY WEEKEND FOR THAT AS WELL, RANDI. CHANCES FOR RAIN START TO PICK UP AS WE GET THROUGH THIS WEEK. WE’VE HAD A NICE STRETCH. THAT STRETCH COMES TO AN END TODAY. OKAY. SO BASICALLY, THERE’S A LOW TO OUR SOUTH. IT’S GOING TO TAKE TWO DAYS TO PASS US BY. SO THAT JUST MEANS ROUNDS OF RAIN OFF AND ON. SO TIMING OUT EACH INDIVIDUAL BAND GETS A LITTLE BIT TRICKY BECAUSE THEY KIND OF GET TOSSED OUR WAY. BUT PLAYING ON WET WEATHER HERE TODAY AND TOMORROW. I NOW I WAS TRYING TO PLOT ACTIVITIES WITH THE SMALL ONES. YES. LIKE, ALL RIGHT, WE’RE GOING TO HAVE TO FIND SOME GOOD INDOOR SOMETHING TO DO TO BURN OFF SOME ENERGY. I’M GOING TO DISAPPOINT MY HUSBAND WHEN HE WAKES UP. BUT LIKE I KNOW YOU WANT TO GO GOLFING THIS YEAR. WE’LL SEE ABOUT THAT. ALL RIGHT. WHAT BOTHERS IS OVER. I LIKE. LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT’S GOING ON HERE ON THE RADAR. LOOKING SOUTH OF THE RIVER RIGHT NOW. WE HAVE RAIN ROLLING IN. I GET NO THUNDER AND LIGHTNING WITH THIS RIGHT AT THE MOMENT. BUT AS WE ZOOM ON IN HERE, SOUTH OF 71, 75, SPLIT, YOU CAN SEE SOME MODERATE RAIN RIGHT THERE MOVING THROUGH GLENCOE. SO AS YOU ROLL ALONG THROUGH PORTIONS OF CARROLL AND GALLATIN COUNTIES, SOME RAIN SHOWERS THERE INTO PORTIONS OF GRANT COUNTY, YOU COULD SEE DRY RIDGE SOUTH LOOKING AT SOME VERY LIGHT SHOWERS. BUT TO ZOOM THIS OFF TO THE EAST HERE, JUST A LITTLE BIT AND YOU COULD SEE SOME POCKETS OF RAIN STARTING TO MOVE INTO PORTIONS OF BRACKEN COUNTY, ABOUT JUST SLIDE BETWEEN AUGUSTA AND RIPLEY ALONG THE RIVER. ANOTHER ONE HEADED TOWARD VANDERBURG AND YOU COULD SEE A MORE WIDESPREAD DOWN JUST OUTSIDE OF OUR AREA. ALL OF THIS DRIFTING TO THE NORTH. SO WE ARE GOING TO BE DEALING WITH ROUNDS OF RAIN AND EVENTUALLY A LITTLE THUNDER AND LIGHTNING. NOW, THE GOOD NEWS HERE, WE’RE NOT ANTICIPATING SEVERE WEATHER OUT OF THESE STORMS AND MOST OF IT’S GOING TO BE PLAIN OLD RAIN, BUT OCCASIONAL LIGHTNING IS GOING TO BE AN ISSUE FOR US. AND THAT WILL LIKELY BRING PEOPLE IN FROM OUTSIDE. IF YOU DO HAVE A BIG OUTDOOR EVENT TODAY. SO LOOKING AT THE RADAR ON A WIDE VIEW, YOU’LL NOTICE THAT MORE, MORE RAIN OFF TO OURSELVES DOWN IN THROUGH BOWLING GREEN AREAS SOUTH OF LEXINGTON AND ALL OF THIS JUST DRIFTING IN OUR DIRECTION. SO OUR RAIN CHANCES CONTINUE TO GO UP. LET’S GO HOUR BY HOUR THROUGH THE NEXT TWO DAYS BECAUSE THAT’S HOW LONG IT’S GOING TO TAKE FOR THIS SYSTEM TO CLEAR OUT THIS MORNING. MOST PLACES WAKING UP TO CLOUDY SKIES, A DECENT BREEZE OUT OF THE SOUTH, AND THAT RAIN KIND OF HOVERING ACROSS OUR SOUTHERN MOST COMMUNITIES. SO OVER THE NEXT 2 HOURS, WATCHING THAT LINE SLOWLY DRIFT NORTH. WE GET TO SEVEN AND 8:00. THAT’S WHEN I THINK IT MAKES IT INTO INTO THE 275 LOOP. AND THEN BY THE TIME WE GET TO NINE AND 10:00 ACROSS THE NORTHERN COMMUNITIES. NOW, YOU GUYS ARE STARTING TO SEE THAT RAIN MOVE IN AT THAT POINT. GAME ON. FOUR ROUNDS OF RAIN, OCCASIONAL THUNDER AND LIGHTNING. SO HERE WE ARE, LATE MORNING WITH SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS. PRETTY WIDESPREAD FOR US. MIDDAY INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE AFTERNOON. AND THEN WE’LL SEE OFF AND ON. SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS INTO THE EVENING IN BETWEEN. TEMPERATURES KIND OF POP UP TO THE MID SEVENTIES NOW WHEN THE RAIN COMES, IT COOLS YOU BACK DOWN AGAIN. SO A TEMPERATURE’S GOING TO BE TRICKY PLAYING ON MID UPPER SEVENTIES, IF WE’RE LUCKY TONIGHT. OCCASIONAL SHOWERS, MAYBE A RUMBLE THUNDER AND MORE OF THE SAME TOMORROW. YOU’LL NOTICE WE START THE DAY WITH SOME SCATTERED RAIN THAT’LL BE WITH US THEN IN THE AFTERNOON, MAYBE A THUNDERSTORM OR TWO. BUT I THINK BY TOMORROW AFTERNOON YOU’RE SEEING LESS RAINFALL. SO AS FAR AS HOW MUCH WE’RE GOING TO GET TO THE NORTH OF THE 275 LOOP, ANYWHERE FROM ABOUT A HALF INCH. A LITTLE MORE THAN THAT TO THE DOWNTOWN CINCINNATI, ABOUT AN INCH. BUT OUR SOUTHERN MOST COMMUNITIES, THOSE YOU DOWN TOWARD ALLEN COUNTY, TWO INCHES OF RAIN DEFINITELY A POSSIBILITY FOR US. RIGHT NOW IT’S 71 DEGREES AND WE’LL SEE THOSE TEMPERATURES AGAIN, KIND OF POP UP AND DOWN HERE AS WE GO THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. AND THAT RAIN INTENSIFIES AND THEN SLACKS OFF. SO PLAYING ON MID SEVENTIES. GET READY TO GET WET. WE DO NEED SOME RAINFALL AROUND HERE STILL. SO TODAY AND TOMORROW, RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS ONCE WE GET TO THE SECOND HALF OF THE WEEK. HUMIDITY IS UP AND THAT WILL LEAD TO DAILY POP OF DOWNPOURS, BUT NOT THE WIDESPREAD STUFF WE’RE GOING TO SEE TODAY. ALL RIGHT, RANDI, THANK YOU. IT COULD BE A BIG WEEK AHEAD FOR THE REDS. THEY ARE COMING OFF A RED HOT STREAK, WINNING EIGHT IN A ROW. THE ROCKIES ARE COMING TO TOWN AND IT’S POSSIBLE WE COULD SEE A FAMILIAR FACE MA
