MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – US navy mentioned on Thursday it had killed 5 Al-Shabaab militants in a brand new “self-defense” air strike in central Somalia’s Galgadud area.
The strike occurred in Hareeri Kalle space close to the city of Gal’advert this week and was performed on the request of the Somali federal authorities, in line with the US Africa Command (AFRICOM).
“Working with the Somali Nationwide Military, U.S. Africa Command’s preliminary evaluation is that the U.S. airstrike killed 5 al-Shabaab terrorists and that no civilians had been injured or killed,” AFRICOM mentioned in an announcement.
Earlier, Somalia’s federal authorities mentioned 100 Al-Shabaab insurgents had been killed within the air raid.
