MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Yasin Haji Faraton was elected as the brand new speaker of Somaliland parliament on Sunday, weeks after former speaker Abdirisak Khalif resigned because of the conflict raging in Lasanod city.
Faraton gained 46 votes in opposition to 35 for his opponent Mohamed Khadar.
The brand new speaker comes from Sool area the place Somaliland troops are battling forces looking for a reunification with Somalia and enjoys the assist of the incumbent President Muse Bihi Abdi.
