Monitoring extreme climate: Twister watch issued for elements of Higher Cincinnati
SO GLAD THEY GOT A GREAT WEEKEND TO ENJOY THAT. CONGRATS TO HIM. CONGRATS TO THE FAMILY. CONGRATS TO ALL THE HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES. I BELIEVE NINE TOTAL UP THERE IN CANTON, BUT A BIG HONOR. OH, MAN. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND. BUT NOW WE’RE DEALING WITH STORMS TO KICK OFF THE START OF THE WEEK. AND TODAY IS PROBABLY GOING TO BE ONE OF THE WETTER DAYS FOR US. SO A COUPLE ROUNDS OF THUNDERSTORMS. FIRST ONE WAS ROLLING THROUGH AROUND MIDNIGHT, ONE, 2 A.M. AND NOW THAT LINE OF STORMS IN EASTERN OHIO. BUT THERE ARE MORE ON ITS TAIL. SO THIS MORNING RIGHT NOW, WE’RE TRACKING A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN UP IN NORTHERN PORTIONS OF WARREN AND INTO CLINTON COUNTY. SO FROM HARVEYSBURG AND NORTH OF WILMINGTON, SEEING A LIGHT SHOWER, A SPRINKLE RIGHT NOW NEAR MAINEVILLE. AND THEN WE HEAD BACK IN CLOSER TO THE 275 LOOP AND YOU CAN SEE A LIGHT SHOWER PASSING BETWEEN ROSS AND COLERAIN WITH ONE OF OUR BIGGER AREAS OF DOWNPOUR SHOWERS RIGHT NOW APPROACHING CVG. SO NORTHERN BOONE COUNTY SEEING SOME HEAVIER RAIN. NOTICE THERE’S NO LIGHTNING WITH THIS. SO IF YOU’RE SEEING FLASHES IN THE DISTANCE, YOU’RE LOOKING DOWN TOWARD LOUISVILLE OR OFF EAST TOWARD EASTERN OHIO, WHERE ALL OF THAT LIGHTNING STILL VISIBLE. SO SOME HEAVIER RAIN BACK INTO SOUTHEASTERN INDIANA AND PARTS OF NORTHERN KENTUCKY. AND THEN WATCHING A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS BASICALLY ROLL EAST JUST NORTH OF 64, BUT DEFINITELY PROVIDING A LIGHT SHOW IF YOU’RE LOOKING OFF TO THE SOUTH AND WEST EARLY THIS MORNING. AS FAR AS THE SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK GOES FOR TODAY, YES, THE STORMS, ESPECIALLY THE ONES MID AFTERNOON OR EVENING, COULD PACK A BIT OF A PUNCH. WE HAVE THE POSSIBILITY OF SOME HAIL OR SOME GUSTY WINDS WITH ANY STORMS THAT COME IN SECOND HALF OF THE DAY. SO ROUND NUMBER ONE IS ROLLING OUT THIS MORNING, FUTURECAST SHOWING THE FIRST BATCH MOVING OUT. SO BY THE TIME WE HIT KIND OF THE HEART OF WHAT WOULD BE A MORNING RUSH HOUR, IF WE RIGHT BACK INTO THE SCHOOL YEAR, SOME SPOTTY RAIN AROUND, BUT NOT SUPER DUPER WIDESPREAD. I THINK THERE’S A DECENT LULL FOR US MID MORNING UP INTO THE LUNCH HOUR AND THEN THE RAIN WILL START TO PICK BACK UP AGAIN AROUND OR JUST AFTER NOON. SO WE’LL CALL IT KIND OF LUNCHTIME OR EARLY AFTERNOON IS WHEN WE GET ROUND NUMBER TWO OF THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. YES, IT’S GOING TO BE HUMID. SO LOCALLY INTENSE DOWNPOURS, SOME LIGHTNING, SOME GUSTY WINDS, PROBABLY YOUR MAIN THREAT HERE INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON. THEN THAT MOVES OUT. AND I THINK THERE’S A BATCH AROUND INTO THE EVENING AS WELL. SO BETWEEN ABOUT 5 P.M. AND 8 P.M., YOU’LL SEE THAT TAPERS OFF TO 10:00 TONIGHT. SO I’VE ALREADY GOT A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS ABOUT TONIGHT’S REDS GAME. IS A BARK IN THE PARK? THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN OR THUNDERSTORMS AROUND EARLY ON, BUT I THINK THEY GET THE GAME IN BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE THINGS DO DRY OUT PRETTY QUICKLY. A LITTLE BIT LATER ON INTO THE EVENING RIGHT NOW, IT IS 67 DEGREES AND WE’RE GOING TO WATCH THOSE TEMPERATURES CLIMB ONLY INTO THE UPPER 70S TODAY BECAUSE OF THE REPEATED NATURE OF THE STORMS. THOSE TEMPERATURES NEVER HAVE TIME TO JUMP UP INTO THE 80S. SO ABOUT 79 OR SO THIS AFTERNOON PUT THAT WEATHER IMPACT SYMBOL IN THERE, ESPECIALLY LUNCHTIME IN THROUGH ABOUT THE EARLY AFTERNOON. THAT’S YOUR MOST LIKELY TIME FRAME FOR RAIN ASIDE FROM, OF COURSE, EARLY THIS MORNING. SO TODAY’S WEATHER IMPACT DAY ROUNDS OF RAIN, SOME STORMS AND YES, IT’S HUMID, BUT ONCE WE GET INTO TONIGHT, THE HUMIDITY DROPS, THE CLOUDS CLEAR OUT TOMORROW, MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE. SO FOR VOTING DAY IN OHIO TOMORROW, PLAN ON TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 80S, BUT LOW HUMIDITY AT LEAST STICKS AROUND THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK. RANDI. THANK YOU.
