CINCINNATI — After almost 50 years, a well-liked Clifton Heights bookstore is closing its doorways.
Duttenhofer’s Books on West McMillan Avenue stated Tuesday it’s completely closing in December — if not sooner.
“After 47 years serving the books and bibliophiles of Cincinnati, Duttenhofer’s is closing its closing chapter,” the shop stated on social media. “The bookstore has continued to be viable all these years, and nonetheless is, however adjustments in actual property and the bookseller’s retirement age have coincided to counsel a pure finish.”
The shop introduced a bookseller’s retirement sale providing 25% off by way of the top of September, saying “good books want houses!”
Duttenhofer’s will preserve its regular working instances by way of the sale. The shop is open Sunday midday to five p.m., Tuesday by way of Thursday 11 a.m. to six p.m. and Friday by way of Saturday 11 a.m. to eight p.m.
