MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre stated his authorities is planning to recruit 40,000 new cops to take duty for the safety of the war-torn Horn of Africa nation after the scheduled exit of African Union peacekeepers by the tip of 2024.
Barre talking at an occasion within the capital Mogadishu said that half of the 40,000 cops can be recruited by the federal authorities and the remaining can be “ready” by the regional states.
It got here just some months after Mogadishu requested a three-month suspension of the drawdown of three,000 peacekeepers scheduled for the tip of September.
