Mogadishu, SONNA – Somali Nationwide Military (SNA) and native forces launched a serious operation towards al-Shabaab within the city of Aad. The operation, which lasted for eight hours, resulted within the liberation of the city and the demise of greater than 80 al-Shabaab fighters, in response to the land forces commander Gen. Dayah Abdi Abdulle.
Gen. Dayah confirmed the result of the operation to Somali Nationwide Information Company (SONNA), saying that the SNA and native forces inflicted heavy losses on the militants.
