Rain and somewhat snow
Rain showers transfer in as we undergo the afternoon. A little bit snow mixes in by Sunday morning.
TAKING A LOOK AT OUR WEATHER. ALL THIS RAIN HAS HAD AN IMPACT ON THE OHIO RIVER. YES, IT ABSOLUTELY HAS. SO WE’RE SEEING THAT RUN A LITTLE BIT HIGHER, A LITTLE BIT FASTER FOR, YOU KNOW, THE ONE WE MAY NORMALLY SEE THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. TYPICALLY WHEN YOU START GETTING INTO, YOU KNOW, MARCH WHEN THE SNOW MELTS, YOU START SEEING THOSE SPRING RAINS. THAT’S WHEN WE WOULD SEE HIGHER RIVER FORECAST. BUT WE’VE HAD A LOT OF RAIN THIS PAST WEEK. AND WE’RE GOING TO ADD TO THAT HERE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. AND THAT’S GOING TO PUSH THE OHIO RIVER INTO ACTION STAGE. WE’RE GOING TO TALK ABOUT THAT HERE IN A MINUTE. OUR RADAR LOCALLY IS GOING TO SHOW DRY SKIES HERE RIGHT NOW. BUT BACK TO THE SOUTHWEST. WE’RE TRACKING THE RAIN THAT’S GOING TO BE HEADING OUR DIRECTION TONIGHT. CAN SEE SOME MODERATE EVEN LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL HERE ACROSS THE SOUTH AGAIN HEADING OUR DIRECTION AS WE HEAD THROUGH TONIGHT, YOU CAN SEE A LITTLE BIT OF MIXING HAPPENING ON THE BACK SIDE OF THIS HERE AS YOU HEAD OUT OVER THE PLAINS, SINCE THE COLD AIR THAT’S GOING TO EVENTUALLY WRAP IN BEHIND THIS SYSTEM, FLIP EVERYTHING OVER TO A SLUSHY WINTRY MIX. SO FOR TODAY, WEATHER IMPACT DAY 43 FOR THE HIGH, WE’LL HAVE OUR DRY START AND THEN RAIN ARRIVING AS YOU HEAD PAST NOON TODAY, TEMPERATURES WILL BE NEAR SEASONAL TODAY, SO REALLY WON’T FEEL HALF BAD IF YOU’RE GOING TO BE OUTSIDE AT ALL. A LITTLE CHILLY TONIGHT FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES OF AROUND 26 TO 28. THANKS TO SOME BREEZES, BUT A RAIN THROUGH MOST OF THE OVERNIGHT, SWITCHING OVER TO A SLUSHY WINTRY MIX BY TOMORROW MORNING. SO WE’RE GOING TO START TOMORROW. OFF WITH MAYBE A LITTLE BIT OF WET SNOW RAIN SNOW MIX. THE REST OF THE DAY. TIME LOOKS DRY WITH TEMPERATURES OF AROUND 38 AND CLOUDY SKIES THAT WEATHER IMPACT IN PLACE THROUGH TONIGHT AND INTO TOMORROW. WE’LL WALK YOU THROUGH THE TIMELINE FOR THE RAIN AND EVEN THE RAIN AND SNOW. HERE IN FUTURECAST YOU CAN SEE SOME DRY CONDITIONS HERE AS WE HEAD THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON SOON. BUT BETWEEN I WOULD SAY NOON AND FOUR SHOWERS STARTING TO BECOME MORE NUMEROUS AND THEN MOST CERTAINLY BETWEEN 4 AND 6, WE’RE SEEING STEADIER RAINFALL. RAIN IS PART OF TONIGHT IS GOING TO BE SOMETIME BETWEEN ABOUT 6:00 AND MIDNIGHT. THAT’S WHEN SOME VERY STEADY SHOWERS PUSH IN. MAYBE SOME EMBEDDED HEAVY RAINFALL LIKE WHAT WE WERE SEEING ON OUR RADAR A LITTLE FURTHER SOUTH OF US. BUT THAT’S GOING TO LIFT OUT OF THE AREA, AND WE’RE JUST GOING TO BE LEFT WITH SOME SCATTERED RAIN THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT. SO THREE, 4:00, SCATTERED LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN. COLD AIR IS GOING TO START TO CATCH UP TO THIS. IT’S GOING TO WRAP IN AND THAT’S GOING TO CHANGE THINGS OVER TO A SLUSHY WINTRY MIX. MAYBE SOME AREAS OF HEAVY WET SNOWFALL. UM, BECAUSE IT’S BEEN WARMER RECENTLY, I THINK THIS IS REALLY JUST GOING TO ALLOW FOR A COATING ON SOME GRASSY SURFACES. NOT EVERYBODY SEEING THAT MOST ROADWAYS WILL STAY WET. IT’S GOING TO BE SHORT LIVED EVENT SOMETIME BETWEEN SIX IN THE MORNING AND I WOULD SAY ABOUT NOON AND WE’RE GOING TO BE DRY FOLLOWING THAT RAIN, MORE SIGNIFICANT THAN WHAT WE’RE GOING TO SEE OUT OF THE SNOW, I THINK FORECAST RAINFALL ANYWHERE FROM THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH TO AN INCH FOR MOST COMMUNITIES. SOME OF US COULD END UP WITH A LITTLE BIT MORE THAN AN INCH, DEPENDING ON HOW MANY HEAVY SHOWERS ROLL THROUGH YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD. BUT WE TALKED ABOUT THIS RAIN CONTRIBUTING TO A HIGHER OHIO RIVER, ESPECIALLY FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. AGAIN, OUTSIDE HERE AT COVINGTON, YOU CAN SEE THATRILLIONIVER RUNNING A LITTLE BIT FASTER AND AGAIN HIGHER THAN NORMAL WATER STARTING TO OVERSPILL THE BANKS A LITTLE BIT INTO THE AUDITORIUM AREA THERE, JUST SHY OF ACTION STAGE RIGHT NOW, JUST ABOUT 39.5FT WILL BE ABOVE 40FT. AS WE HEAD THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON. SO OFFICIALLY, AN ACTION STAGE LATER ON THIS MORNING. BUT THAT CREST IS GOING TO BE 47FT ON MONDAY, SO THAT’S GOING TO PUT WATER UP AROUND CONEY ISLAND. THE USUAL SPOTS AND EVEN SOME OF THE FRONT YARDS AND CALIFORNIA. SO WE’LL KEEP AN EYE ON THAT FORECAST HERE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. BUT AGAIN, PLAIN OLD RAIN IS GOING TO BE THE STORY FOR MOST OF US. THOSE OF US THAT DO SEE SNOW AGAIN, SLUSHY COATINGS POSSIBLE AS YOU HEAD THROUGH TOMORROW MORNING, I WOULD SAY MOST NOT GOING TO BE STICKING AT ALL IF YOU WERE TO SEE SOME GRASSY ACCUMULATION. AGAIN, ELEVATED SURFACES, YARDS, THINGS LIKE THAT. AS YOU GO INTO MONDAY 39 FOR THE HIGH 48, MILD DAY ON TUESDAY. WE’LL HAVE SOME EVENING SHOWERS. WEDNESDAY LOOKS CLOUDY AND DRY ABOUT 40 AND THEN WE’RE BACK TO MILD AIR AGAIN AS YOU HEAD INTO NEXT WEEKEND. I THINK AROUND 52 WITH SOME CLOUD COVER AS WE HEAD INTO NEXT FR
