MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Numerous Somali MPs have smuggled pistols and scissors into parliament session, threatening safety of their colleagues amid escalating disputes over government-proposed constitutional modifications, parliamentarian Ilyas Sheikh Ahmed stated on Thursday.
The MP, giving a speech, urged the speaker of parliament Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur to punish MPs who smuggle weapons into the home to threaten the lives of their colleagues.
The remarks have come days after feminine MP splashed water on parliament chair and employees.
