MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s authorities on Wednesday banned the usage of face masks and hats as a result of safety fears, days after rebel assault at a heavily-fortified army academy in Mogadishu resulted within the demise of UAE army officers.
A spokesman for Banadir regional administration, Salah Dhere, stated the face masks had been getting used to cover identification and facilitate prison actions.
The authorities had determined to impose the ban following a gathering convened by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud with officers of the safety companies, he added.
The official careworn that conventional sunnah hats worn by elders and spiritual students are exempt from the ban.
