MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Authorities in northeastern Somalia’s Puntland state mentioned on Monday that at the very least 20 ISIS militants have been killed in fierce clashes close to the business port metropolis of Bosaso, marking the primary important confrontation since regional safety forces launched a navy operation towards the group final week.
The combating erupted within the Dhaban’advert Valley, about 13 km from Balidhidin city within the Bari area, at roughly 8:00 am, in keeping with Mohamed Mohamud Ahmed, a spokesperson for Puntland’s safety forces.
The battle ensued after ISIS militants launched a multifaceted assault, using explosives, booby-trapped drones, mortars, and infantry, the official added.
The regional safety official confirmed that two troopers have been killed and three others wounded when their car was struck by an explosive system throughout the assault.
