Winter Climate Advisory: Heavy snow drops a number of inches throughout Cincinnati area
ARE NOT GETTING VITAMIN D, WE ARE GETTING A LOT OF SNOW AND THAT IS REALLY IMPACTING THE ROADWAYS. NOW IT IS. I WAS JUST LOOKING AT THE TRAFFIC CAMERAS AND I’M GOING TO SHOW YOU ONE ON 275 THIS OR I’M SORRY. THIS IS 7175 AT BUTTERMILK. BUT I WAS JUST LOOKING AT 71 NORTH. BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, I DO NEED TO GO HOME. YEAH, THAT’S THAT’S AWFUL. WHAT I TAKE AS WELL. OH, GOOD. YEAH. I JUST SAW A SALT TRUCK THOUGH ON THIS ONE THOUGH. THIS IS 7175 AT BUTTERMILK PIKE. SO IT PRETTY MUCH DOESN’T MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE NOW, EXCEPT FOR THE FAR SOUTHEASTERN CORNER OF THE VIEWING AREA. WE ARE SEEING MESSY, MESSY ROAD CONDITIONS. AND THIS IS I MEAN, THIS IS COVERED. IT LOOKS A LITTLE BETTER WHERE THE THE LANES ARE, BUT THEY’RE STILL COVERED IN A, IN A LITTLE LIGHT DUSTING OF SNOW OR SLUSH. AND WE’LL CONTINUE TO WATCH THAT THROUGHOUT THE MORNING. AS I JUST MENTIONED, I WAS JUST LOOKING 71 NORTH. DANA AVENUE UP THROUGH WARREN COUNTY. AND IT JUST LOOKS LIKE A MESS RIGHT NOW. SO IF YOU DON’T HAVE TO HEAD OUT THIS MORNING, GIVE IT A COUPLE OF HOURS AND LET THE CREWS DO THEIR WORK AND LET THINGS CLEAR UP. AND THEN YOU CAN HEAD OUT AND AND DO WHATEVER YOU NEED TO DO, BECAUSE THIS SNOW IS COMING DOWN AT A GOOD CLIP, BUT IT IS MOVING OUT TO THE EAST PRETTY QUICKLY. SO HEAVY SNOW FROM ABOUT MIDDLETOWN DOWN TO MASON NOW AND INTO THE 275 LOOP. DOWN 7175 THERE INTO DOWNTOWN CINCINNATI. AND THIS IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO CROSS OVER 71 THERE. JUST MAKING 71 EVEN WORSE THAN IT IS, AS WELL AS PLACES DOWN THE 7175 SPLIT. NOW WE’LL CONTINUE TO WATCH THIS CHANGEOVER TAKE PLACE FROM WEST UNION TO MAYSVILLE. THAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN OVER THE NEXT 30 MINUTES. AND AS THAT CONTINUES TO DO SO, WE’RE GOING TO WATCH THE BACK EDGE OF THIS SNOW MOVE OUT OF OUR INDIANA COUNTIES. BUT THIS HEAVY SNOW JUST BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS OR FAMILY IN THIS AREA, JUST MAKE SURE THEY’RE OKAY. MASON REDDING, NORWOOD DOWN TO DOWNTOWN. THAT’S WHERE WE’RE GOING TO HAVE NEARLY WHITEOUT CONDITIONS BECAUSE OF REDUCED VISIBILITY. THOSE WINDY CONDITIONS DOWN TO OUR SOUTH AND EAST IS WHERE WE’RE STILL TRACKING WARMER, WARM ENOUGH WEATHER TO BE RAIN. HOWEVER, THIS LOOKS LIKE IT’S SLEET RIGHT HERE WHERE YOU HAVE THAT YELLOW SHOWING UP JUST NORTH OF WEST UNION INTO PEEBLES, AND THEN YOU’RE GOING TO QUICKLY TRANSITION OVER TO SOME SNOW THAT WE HAVE BACK THROUGH BROWN COUNTY. AND THEN THERE’S THE BACK EDGE OF IT. SO WE’RE ALMOST DONE. WE COULD SEE THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL, BUT IT’S GOING TO TAKE ANOTHER COUPLE OF HOURS. SO WE’LL BE DRYING OUT HERE OVER THE NEXT HOUR ACROSS OUR NORTH AND WEST. THAT WILL TRANSITION INTO CINCINNATI BETWEEN 9 AND 10. AND THEN WE’LL SEE, OR BETWEEN SAY, 930 AND 1030. AND THEN WE’LL SEE THAT LINGERING SNOW ACROSS THE SOUTH AND EASTERN PORTIONS OF OUR VIEWING AREA LATE MORNING. AND WE’RE NOT DONE YET. SO WE GET A LITTLE BREAK HERE AND THERE’S OUR NEXT ONE. SO I SAID IT WAS A12 PUNCH, BUT IT’S A ONE TWO, THREE PUNCH TODAY. AND WE ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO SEE SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS MOVE BACK IN HERE FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING, CREATING ADDITIONAL SLICK SPOTS AND ADDITIONAL LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS. WE’VE ALREADY PICKED UP AN INCH OR TWO IN OUR INDIANA COUNTIES, AND WE’LL CONTINUE TO WATCH THAT THROUGHOUT THE REST OF OUR AREA TODAY. RIGHT NOW, WE’RE AT 30 IN CINCINNATI. THESE NUMBERS KEEP DROPPING INTO THE MID 20S. WE GO FOR CONNERSVILLE DOWN TO BROOKVILLE AND VERSAILLES. AND WE’RE IN THOSE MID 30S FOR BROOKSVILLE AND MAYSVILLE, KENTUCKY, 33 FOR GEORGETOWN WHERE IT’S STILL SNOWING THERE, AND 32 IN INDEPENDENCE. JUST BE CAREFUL. WE ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO TRACK BLUSTERY CONDITIONS TODAY. CURRENT WIND SPEEDS OUT OF THAT WEST NORTHWEST DIRECTION BETWEEN 15 AND 20MPH. THAT IS GOING TO BE WITH US THE ENTIRE DAY TODAY, AND THAT IS WHAT’S MAKING IT FEEL SO MUCH COLDER OUT THERE. FEELS LIKE 15 IN CONNERSVILLE, 17 IN BROOKVILLE, FEELS LIKE 17 HERE IN CINCINNATI. AND IT FEELS LIKE THE MID TO LOW 20S ACROSS OUR EAST AND SOUTHEAST TO BOOT. WE HAVE WIND GUSTS THAT WILL BE TOPPING 30, 35MPH. AND THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT YOU SEE HERE. IT’S GOING TO BE WINDY FROM THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON, AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THAT AS WELL AS THESE FLOOD WARNINGS THAT ARE STILL IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS MORNING IN AREAS OF THIS BRIGHT GREEN COLOR THAT YOU SEE HERE. SO THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO BE EXPIRED. THE FLOOD WARNINGS ACROSS OUR NORTH AND EAST HAVE BEEN EXPIRED, BUT WE ARE STILL HANGING TIGHT TO THE FLOOD WARNINGS THAT YOU SEE HERE THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS. AND WE STILL HAVE SOME WATER ISSUES AS WELL IN TERMS OF HIGHER STREAMS AND CREEKS, AS WELL AS THE RIVER. YOUR 12 HOUR FORECAST TODAY LOOKS LIKE THIS WILL FALL THROUGH THOSE 30S INTO THE 20S. I THINK WE’RE GOING TO HANG OUT IN THE 20S FOR A LOT OF US LATER THIS MORNING INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON, AND WE’LL BE IN THOSE 20S FALLING EVEN COLDER BY THIS EVENING AROUND 4 OR 5:00. FUTURECAST THROUGHOUT THIS MORNING. SO THERE’S NINE, 930 WHERE WE’RE LOOKING AT HEAVY SNOW WORKING ITS WAY THROUGH CINCINNATI AND EVENTUALLY EASTWARD. WE GET RID OF THAT WIDESPREAD SNOW BY LUNCHTIME. BUT THEN WE REINTRODUCE CHANCES FOR SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS. SO SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS WITH US THROUGHOUT THE AFTERNOON. I’M KEEPING THOSE CHANCES IN THROUGHOUT THE EVENING. AND WE’LL FINALLY DRY THINGS OUT OVERNIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING, ALLOWING FOR A LITTLE BIT OF SOME BREAKS IN THE CLOUDS FOR SOME SUNSHINE. SO A 1 TO 3IN OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE. I WOULDN’T BE SURPRISED IF WE SAW AROUND THREE, SO A LOCALLY SOME PLACES COULD SEE THREE PLUS, BUT I’M THINKING 1 TO 3 ON AVERAGE AND THEN WE’RE LOOKING PROBABLY LESS THAN THAT FOR AREAS ACROSS THE FAR SOUTH AND EAST WHERE WE HAVE BEEN WARMER THROUGHOUT THE MORNING. WE’RE DRY NOW FOR MONDAY. DRY ON TUESDAY, BUT THEN OUR NEXT SYSTEM BRINGS US SNOW FOR THE MIDDLE OF THE WORKWEEK. AND LOOK AT THOSE HIGHS. WE ONLY MAKE IT INTO THE M
