Somalia’s Catastrophe Administration Company (SoDMA) attended the eighth World Platform for Catastrophe Threat Discount (GPDRR 2025), a four-year summit held in Geneva, Switzerland.
SoDMA Chief Mohamud Moalim led Somalia’s delegation to the summit in Geneva, held from June 2 to six, with over 2,700 contributors from 133 international locations.
Delegates addressed world methods for catastrophe preparedness, resilience constructing, and danger discount, with a robust emphasis on public consciousness and early warning programs.
Organized by the UN Workplace for Catastrophe Threat Discount (UNDRR), the occasion promoted worldwide cooperation and management in dealing with escalating catastrophe threats worldwide.

The summit concluded with a joint name to fast-track implementation of the Sendai Framework, urging nations to satisfy its 2030 catastrophe danger discount targets.
The Sendai Framework calls on international locations to spice up resilience, enhance restoration plans, and construct programs to deal with future emergencies and local weather dangers.
