The U.S. has struck Venezuela and captured its President Nicolas Maduro, who has been taken overseas, President Donald Trump stated on Saturday.
The U.S. has not made such a direct intervention in Latin American for the reason that invasion of Panama in 1989 to depose army chief Manuel Noriega.
“The USA of America has efficiently carried out a big scale strike towards Venezuela and its chief, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, alongside together with his spouse, captured and flown overseas,” Trump stated in a Fact Social publish.
There was no quick affirmation from the Venezuelan authorities.
The U.S. has accused Maduro of operating a “narco-state” and rigging an election. The Venezuelan chief, who succeeded Hugo Chavez to take energy in 2013, has stated Washington desires to take management of its oil reserves, the most important on the planet.
